I know the high risk ones tend to earn more and i've always been interested in the stock market so would using £1k to have a dabble on the stock market be a good idea?
I don't know the first thing about it though
Any beginners guides?

james - i would personally but some of it on the stock market though obviously only as much as you can afford to loose - depends how long you can have it tied up for or how much you really want it to make ....

Any advice on the stock market?
Is investing a small amount like £500 into the stock market completely pointless?
Because I cant really afford to lose more than that

have a look for a magazine called money, wh smiths stock it, it gives you a load of investment opportunities to choose from, tells you what grading they are, ie past performance figures, whos strong and what to currently look out for on the stock market. surprisingly easy to follow too. alternativley speak to an independant financial advisor
