First of all, needs to be from either Currys or Dixons
So
http://www.currys.co.uk
http://www.dixons.co.uk
I know some of these come with lenses, but from what I understand I might have to buy a better one? If thats the case I'd like to stay within a budget of £550 (would maybe go up to £600 if I have to)
350D seems to crop up a lot in conversation, worth getting one of those? Or are there better ones to choose from?
Cheers

350D is extremely good.
400D is the new version of this.
Everyone says you will need to buy lenses, which is half true.
The kit lens will do you fine.
When you find situations it doesn't do fine you will start to know what you are needing from a lens and can look into buying more.
You would also be using the camera if you noticed you needed another lens.
Get the kit and go from there.
Batteries are also mentioned, I only have one for mine and its never ran out.
If you are taking thousands of shots an hour or will be out for days etc this is different.
