Dvi with audio thrown in.
A digital connection between components that carries video, audi, and control information.
Also hdcp which is a method of protecting digital films from being pirated.
edited to say audio not audi, they make cars and afaik don't have anything to do with hdmi.

Better quality that what?
But yes the video will be better quality, audio will be as good as any other digital audio connection.

Much better than your scart or components.
The current 360 does not do hdmi but there is apparently a cable coming out for it.
The new 360 does have hdmi.

HDMI/DVI isnt much better than component at all really. When the same resolution is used they offer about the same overall quality, as long as the connections are good (but that goes without saying).
It will be better than Scart though, but still mainly due to the HD support.

Although a lot of TVs won't support 1080p over component, so HDMI still has it benefits (plus HDCP when Bluray/HDDVD policies get restrictive).
