The 'he won't be there for the long run' argument is a non-starter and one i can never get my head round. If this was the case every country would be playing 17 year olds and Cafu wouldn't have played in 3 world cup finals. You need players to get you to the tournament in the first place as well as actually being there and bringing in a batch of younger players at a time doesn't work at international level that has been proven.

I know when we see the footy on TV from up above camera angles, we see where we'd like the ball to be played, down at pitch level the players just dont see it!

Beckhams passing ability was ideal for switching play, sometimes i scream at the TV for a player to pass the ball to the opposite side to a player in acres of space.

IMO he was good for that and did pick player out when at UTD but as the years have gone on we've seen less of it.

Cant see no harm in bringing him back, but i'm not sure in Mccocklren would have the balls to admit he should have been in the squad anyway.
