I have been told that if you have a black sticker of an animal (rat / bull....etc) on the rear of your car it means you know the police or are in the police and don't pull you?
Is this true? Or is it to do with a religion or something?
I'm not thinking of getting one as i haven't been pulled over in god knows how long but i thought it was quite interesting!

It's a black rat and it's bullshit. Traffic police were known as Black rats but as every tom, dick or harry can get stickers, badges etc.. off the net or ebay etc..then I doubt this will hold any future credence.

cupra steve is correct in one way,
unmarked undercover persuit cars in the 1980's did have a black sticker on the back window. it was said that they were in the shape of a rat or a bird, was in the national newspapers and the idea was scrapped by the police.
military used a similar scheme for their cars for transporting high profile officers.
My dad was a traffic officer in the MOD and a driver for the army. he told me this years ago.

Black Rats has more to do with the 7th armoured division.

Some cars do have a DIPLOMATIC identification on the car to help the police know who they are.
Police forces are so much better informed of who will be travelling through their areas that there really isnt a need for it.
