over the last few months ive been using different cleaning gear to see what one i thought was the best.

firstly used autoglym high resin - good finish but doesent come off that easy IMO

then went to Turtle wax, wax paist - goes on and come off easier and probabl;y the same result to the eye, lower price tag aswell

Used meguiars nxt tech wax last week, and tbh for the price tag it doesent seem to give a better finish then the turtle wax which costs half the price, maybe it lasts through more washes.

also been experimenting with wheel cleaners and tyre gels.

tryed meguiars and turtle wax wheel cleaner, not alot in it really as long as you use a good brush with them.

as for tyre gels, turtle wax is a good finish but only lasts a few days, just got some meguiars and autoglym tyre gel but havent tried them yet.

gona try some armoral products out soon aswell.

just thought id share some opinions

I only use Autoglym. Was tempted by some Meguiars on 3 for 2 at the moment, but gave it a miss.

too ture, too many people polish there car every time.

really you should only need polish ur car once a year if that a good shampoo and wax is good enough after that to bring up the shine

Problem is that it all gets a bit confusing when you start reading the back of the pack for what it claims to actually do. I was reading the back of the tub of that Turtle Wax paste about five minutes ago. It says it takes contaminates out of the paint, and you can't use it on damaged laquer - i.e its actually a polish not a wax . Just to make matters worse, most polishes have wax in them aswell, i think Autogylm stuff is like this, super Resin polish, and deep gloss (? the black one!) does anyway .

what do you mean every 3 weeks, polishing that often will thin the paint out.

you should only clean and wax, unless that is if you have a red corsa.

but a product called wax is your best bet though over a product called polish. as they will have more of one ingredient i,e polish will have more polish then wax and vice versa.

most waxes need to contain a little polish to get the shine

i usually wash with Meguiars gold class shampoo an meguiars wash mitt,

clean the wheels with auto glym alloy wheel cleaner,

dry off the car with Meguiars Drying towel.

I then use the meguiars clay bar an quick detailer.

Then Autoglym bug and tar remover to take off the tar deposits the clay bar doesnt get.

Then i use Auto Glym Super Resin Polish and leave to bake on for about an hour.

I then buff off and apply a coat of Meguiars nxt gen tech wax.

I use microfibre cloths aswell.

I then use Meguiars tyre gel on the tires

Autoglym glass cleaner on the inside and outside off the glass and auto glym glass polish on the outside.

I use autosol metal cleaner for the exhaust trim and baby oil for all rubber trim.

I did my tyres today as they were the only thing letting it down. I mixed up a strong mix of water and washing up liquid. gave em a good scrub and used a sponge on the alloys.

I polished up the alloys and then sprayed the tyres with simoniz back to black tyre shine, then used a lint free cloth and removed any excess spray.

look smart, and now they tie in with my deep black trim!

When i had the 106 i used to use (in no specific order) the Meg's claybar (occasionally) always use Autoglym polish with microfibre cloths. Usually use a wash mitt. Halfords window cleaner, turtle wax shampoo, can't remember the alloy wheel cleaner or tyre blacker, but it used to come up like this...
