Does it not do it on idle at all? My tensioner was rattling a while back and had an intermittent rattle but would always hear it when driving

I have concluded that it is something loose inside the engine bay....question is what too tight to look
Hopefully get it looked at tomorrow

mine c14se, it only does it over 50% accelerator travel when accelerating, for maintaining a constant speed of say 80 in 5th, where the pedal is over 50% travelled you dont hear the noise, and you dont hear it on idle.
Can you get to the heatshield on the manifold without moving bits of engine? If so what am i looking for? Loose, a hole etc?
Cheers

If any one was interested the problem is to do with my flexi pipe which has now failed and is blowing
The metal pipe inside was trapping air so it was vibrating and making the nails in a bag noise

it allows slight movement when the engine is torquing to prevent the whole exhaust being pulled forward. They are usually only put on cars where the exhaust has had the normal sleeve type join removed due to cat removal etc
