quote taken from sporting life, from the pfa awards for 2005
"With goalkeeper Petr Cech, captain John Terry and midfielder Frank Lampard all nominated for the Player of the Year Award and winger Arjen Robben on the Young Player shortlist, it was no surprise to see all four make the PFA's FA Premier League Team of the Year, as voted for by their fellow professionals."

Im telling you now the Team is not picked by the players.
They may or may not have some sort of submission on certain names, but it is selected by a panel.

taken from teamtalk.com from an interview with ben foster
"Foster even voted for Van der Sar in his PFA team of the year, along with other star performers in United's squad such as Cristiano Ronaldo."

like I said, they may have some input but they dont pick the final team, it is done by a panel at the FA or PFA or whichever!
