Right, I’ve had a pay as you talk phone since I was 15 (now 23) and I’ve now come to the stage of wanting a contract.

I used to go through about £20 worth of credit every month or so.

Can anyone recommend me any good contracts to get, I don’t really use my phone for calls, it’s mainly txt's.

I want it to be as little as possible and a free phone. I'm not interested in anything like the newest phone on the market etc, just something that will make calls and isn’t a brick.

Obviously I’ll be looking my self for a contract but there are SOME clever people on here who know a thing or two about phones.

Thanks

600 texts, 75 mins £15 a month on 3

Sony K610i would be a wise choice. Small, good battery & easy to use. Few other phones on that deal too

Plus I know a sneakey way to get £30 of credit on your account too

You pay usually about £35 per month & then have to save all your bills, fill in loads of forms & send them in (by recorded delivery) so that they can validate your claim. IF everything is OK then they send you a cheque. If you miss any slight detail then they don't pay out. Lots of companies have been on watchdog about this type of thing as they were making the rules stupidy strict. Its an excellent deal but its also a risk & a pain in the arse

Plus it can affect your upgrades. Most networks do an early upgrade to reward loyalty, if your on a chequeback scheme you can't upgrade early as the claim will be voided (billing dates/change of tariff etc on the bill)

Really wouldn't reccomend going on one of these schemes unless your a complete nerd when it comes to paperwork/bills/dates (or if you have a secratry, then you can make her do it all for you )
