I know this has probably been asked numerous of times (Ive tried searching), but i just would like to know what i will need, and the basic steps for the convertion, is there any guides out there anyone could link me to? i know theres one for the 1.2 16v on smallblockxe.com but was just wondering if theres one been done for a 1.2 8v, would be very grateful

Loom, engine, gearbox, ECU, Chip, Transponder, mounts, exhuast..

ive basically bought an engine and all this with it....
Engine
Gear box
Engine loom
1.6 Drive shafts
2.0 Brakes
Header tank
Key Chip
Chip reader
ECU
All coolent hoses
will i be needing anything else(radiator?) will my 1.2 8v speedo cable work because ive heard of problems? what about the fuel lines and fuel pump?

You'll need the fuel pump, yes, the speedo won't work unless the (1.6) gearbox you have is cable driven (bare in mind you can use the 1.2 gearbox though, so that's fine). I don't think you need the fuel lines, but I'm not 100% sure.
You will need a new driver's side engine mount though, for a Non-aircon 1.4/1.6 with PAS.
The PAS will be fine, as long as you have the right mount.
Radiator, you'll want a 16v one, as it's bigger than the 1.2 one.
As for the loom, I haven't got the foggiest, but Rob's guide on my site probably explains that bit, if you look at that again.

your a star mate... what box is in my 1.2 8v then? would that make it abit quicker bottom end?

Your 1.2 8v gearbox wont cope with the extra torque from the 1.6 16v.

F13 in a 1.2 8v? never knew that... thought it was the F10..

Depends on the year, it can be an F10/4, F10/5, F13/4 (apparently ), F13/5CR or F13/5WR 
I'd say if it's 5 speed, it'll be an F13 though.

what supention setup would you recommend? on a budget so i was thinking gmax 60mm kit or maybve save for some GAZ coilovers from Dave A
