Never sure what to charge people.

Does anyone do it on here, and what do you charge?

By the hour? By the site?

I've basically done a 10 page XHTML/CSS site, with a bit of PHP, Javascript and FLV Video embedding.

Not sure what to charge? 400 sound reasonable? Or too much/less?

I do it by the hour normally. It depends on the client but i normally charge about £22 an hour.

I would charge a fee for the project as a whole. But as said, I think you should base it on the client somewhat, although not entirely.

If its for a one man band, then I think 400 is reasonable, although if the company is larger, I think anything up to 600 is fair, although it's hard to say without a detailed knowledge of what has been done.

For future reference, it may be better to quote them before you start the work, otherwise if they aren't happy with the price all your hard work could go to waste, or go under payed

EDIT: then base the quote on the estimated time to complete and the work involved
