Soon, hopefully after i pass my test i want to slam my car.
But because its only a 1.0 im not sure if i should go out for the full kit because its too slow to actually get the best out of the handling.

So was wondering what people thought about lowering with just springs, so if i fitted some 60mm springs to my car is it going to effect the dampers alot?

Im not sure how my dampers have held out but it still goes round corners. Very bouncy ride and my camber is way off.

so the springs are making your camber out?

Also would i need bumpstops or can you keep the standard ones, if they come standard??

Going down 60 i should imagine the wheels are like this /-\

I just put everything back together cant remember if it had bumpstops.

my car is curently sitting on just springs, its very bouncy and doesnt handle as great as a full kit would.

my shocks are doing fine and no u dont need any bump stops.

just take the strut mount off take the spring out put the new spring in put the top mount back on and hey presto job done!

infact ive got to do this to my neighbours car tomorrow!

I wouldnt bother,my mate had just springs on his corsa,his shocks collapsed,then his car was low so he had to change his shocks anyway

mines a 1.0 so handling isn't a massive issue for me, i just want it low.

Is this Camber thing a massive issue or is it something you get used to.

lower it and bollocks to it worry about the consequences later lol i always do. 3 cars now ive lowered without a supension kit my 1.4 8v si astra f saloon on 60mm springs,my 1.6 16v sport astra f hatch 60 and now my 1.4 16v sport corsa b 60mm no problems yet on calapsing shocks so id say your fairly safe. and tbh itll handle better round bends its just a bit of a bumpy ride, me personally im buyin a suspension kit purely because of tht and because its going to be a track car apart from tht your fine just buy a lowering spring kit.

the are cheap kits around gmax and that...said to be shit but they not too bad...if ure gonna pay out for new dampers may aswell keep ure originals in tacked and buy a gmax kit...go down to ure local halfords my mates got a nova and brought a full gmax 60mm kit for £100...check the returns/reduced section like...other thing is if ure keeping the car a while long...wot u go for a 1.4/1.6 upgrade on the engine...ive got a 1.4 sport great fun....people say engines are like £300 i guess ure looking at the same for the labour though...get saving maybe though?? a 1.6 cosa will set u back about £1600ish

You can run lowered springs fine.

But don't go lower than -40mm on the standard shox as it puts them under a lot of pressure.

A set of lowering springs at -40mm are fine. I even ran a 2.0 on standard shox n springs for a year Bit bouncy....

You can get the camber adjusted at most wheel alignment centres.

ive just ordered my softstars...next week tyres...week after that...fk coilovers, week after that camber and everything sorted at a local garage...might even buy myself a ickle strut brace...then the week after that i will have some money to spend lmao fro i love ure car...mine will look better soon though! well i can try

Mines lowerred 60mm on standard shocks and has been for 11 months. I had it Mot'd last week and the shocks were fine. It's quite a bumpy ride but that dont bother me

I'm sure they done something with the camber when the coillies were fitted as i have a print out for it, could be wrong though i guess.

when you buy a upgraded strut, the camber is automaticaly set to be correct when its lowered.

however this will nock your tracking out, but any decent tyre and exhaust place should do your tracking for £10-£20

i have had mine done now for bout 5 months its on a 1.6 its very bumpy but doesnt handle tbh, if your lowering on a budget then i would say yeh if shox colapse then they colapse dont they ya win some ya loose so !! all part of modifying!!!

i had my corsa on -40mm springs and standard shocks. i think it handled better with the standard suspension. and as for say ing its only a 1.0litre so you dont need it to handle well. you dont need power to go around a corner. if you are mid-bend and you hit a bump, its not a nice feeling when you start to bounce.

-40mm on standard shocks is lowest I would go, anymore get kit.

mine was lowered 60mm on springs and was fine, its not as slammed as you would imagine though
