I resently changed engine.....to a 1.4 but the 1.2 ecu is still in the car....and the 1.4 needs reseting to work....anyone know where to do this

think you just dissconnect the battery for a few minutes.

if the 1.4 ecu hasnt been in the car yet just plug it in

yeh just plug it in but when you turn it on dont rev it at all for about a minute to let it configure

nope...none of them work.......it wont tick over when i plug it in eml just flash...nothing else

do a paper clip test and it should tell you what is wrong.

if the EML just flashes its imobilised.

do you have the chip and chip reader (around ignition barrel) from the 1.4 car?

i just got a 1.4 spi engine....threw it in....didnt change any wiring....or the ecu...plug the 1.4 ecu in and nothing happens

was the car origionally a 1.2spi?

I did the same conversion, the car ran perfectly off the wiring harness, ecu, chippedkey and code reader from the 1.2 car.

If your EML is flashing your imobiliser is on and the car wont start or may start and cut out.

yep was a 1.2

how do i switch the impobiliser off?
