thinking about just replacing the oil rings as the compression is good, and there only £40 for 4 from vauxhall

good or bad idea?

Its only the oil thats the problem isn't it?? On the other hand may b false economy not to do it all while its in bits?

compressions are good, just oil rings have gone

its not necessary to replace rings if you take them out (but best too i no)

replace the rings in complete sets. pointless to change them if you dont do it properly.
