For that sort of money I would take a look at:
Intel Q6600
Asus P5K Deluxe
4gb memory (not sure, ocz, corsair, geil)
2 x 500gb samsung spinpoints
BFG 8800gts 640mb
Samsung SH-S203ABEBN dvd/rw
Corsair HX 620w power supply
Then think about a good cooler, sound card? and a case that you like. Also on 22nd July intel are announcing new cpus and current prices should fall soon after that.

More likely wait a month and then buy a cheaper quad core, as their new ones will be expensive to get a similar performance level.

MicroDirect you will get your stuff quicker and in less battered condition
for £1000 you will get a proper high spec PC, in contrast I bought this
KN9 Ultra mobo
Athlon 4600X2
X1950GT
2GB DDR800
150GB HD
for like £300 - what I sold my old parts off for that still worked on ebay, it cost me less than £200

You reckon? I think its the other way round?
Maybe its the red mist that comes over me when I use ebuyer or their shite delivery service (CityLink) or their shite RMA service (MD u get RMA number same day, ebuyer normally use 5 - 7 working days).... i dunno, i dont use ebuyer even if they are cheaper anymore
