when i shift to 3rd it makes a clicky sound and sort of bumps half way through the shift
anyone know what this could be 
it also crunches into reverse near enough every time too

seach on here on how to set up the gear linkage,if that doesnt stop it the adjust the cluch as it could have worn down slightly.

nothing to do with the clutch so should be the linkage

weird i drove your car a lttle while ago and it felt smooth as ! weird...i will be over tomoz to start the hedges, will have a goose then mate

I would realign the linkage, the bracket may not been tight enough and could have slipped out of place.
Get under the car, loosen the bolt that clamps the bracket to the sender rod.
Now from the engine bay...
Think you require a 4.5mm drill bit, lock that into the hole on the gearbox (remove the bung first) you have to move the selector around by hand until you feel the drill bit slot in further. That then locks the selector in the correct position.
Then inside the car...
Then take the gaitor off the gearstick and you will see a hole in the lift reverse mech, that lines up with a hole on the passenger side of the gearlever.....line the holes up and slide a screwdriver through the holes to lock them up.
Now get under the car again and tighten the bracket back up around the sender rod...
Remove the drill bit and screw driver.
You should now be aligned again!
