He still hasn't walked away properly, looks like it was a bearing failure or a bodywork part that then damaged the tyre

That car is a mess

he should be OK, they will just be over-protective, just in case! So long as he isnt concussed he should b fine!

Not really, just looks bad because the suspension is inside the tyre wall somewhere.. The main shell looked straight and in one piece..

nasty crash, nothing really slowed the impact at all


Looked more like something on the car affected the tyre rather then the tyre iteself due to the smoke before etc

didn't think of that, perhapps it wasn't threaded on properly, there was certainly smoke coming from the wheel before it fully deflated!
Eitherway, hopefully he'll beable to drive tomorrow, but i think it'll be unlikely

It wasnt fastened on tight enough.
Loosened during the lap, by the corner of the crash it was loose enough for the wheel to have movement. This movement caused the tyre to foul the bodywork, and in turn deflate the tyre
