What sort of damage can occur to a gearbox after the fluid has came out while moving in gear at about 80/90mph?

I drove mine about 200 miles with no oil...... then the gearbox was fucked.
I topped it up with oil... it was fine for another 200 miles and that was it... game over!

well its not a vauxhall, there was a recall on my car on the driveshaft circlip. I did not know this and the car broke down which resulted in needing a new driveshaft and clip. then it happened again and they just put a new clip on. the previous two times it happened while in warrenty now its happened the third time the garage are saying that the diff is nakered and thats whats causing the problems but now its out of warrenty they want me to pay to get it fixed. But my problem is i think the last two times the shaft has fallen out would of damaged the diff.
