Looking for a basic card that has tv out so that i can play rom's on my tv and also some films. But havent a clue what im looking for as they all seem to fit different slots etc and i havent a clue what motherboard I have lol.

Just a cheap card - nothing flashy.
PC is a PIII 997MHz

hmmmm i might have an old 32meg or 64meg ati card in one of our old pcs i was just going to chuck it in the dump but you can have it if you want.
its connected through agp, you know if your pc has that slot?

could always go with a VGA to scart adapter  you will have some PCI slots and possibly an AGP slot on there.. if you open up the case smaller white ones are normally PCI and AGP is normally orange i believe also its longer than the PCI's
