Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard has escaped a suspension for being sent off in Sunday's 2-1 defeat by Galatasaray.
Striker Neil Mellor, who was also sent off in the fiery friendly in Amsterdam, has also escaped a ban.
Gerrard is already ruled out of the Premiership opener against Chelsea at Anfield on 17 August following his sending-off against the same team in the final game of last season

Why have you linked to a story from 2003?

neil mellor should've given it away or the fact it was galatasaray he 'got sent off at', or the fact we don't open against chlsea, or .....

Gerrard is such a wanker for doing that. If that was Rooney the media would want a season ban on him or something, but saint Gerrard gets away with it once again.
he did it a few times when he was younger - pre being a super star - when he was very hot headed, and got the red cards and extended bans for doing so.
But in recent years since he has hit the headlines he hasnt done anything like that at all.
Hence the older link I put up.

We knew this though, hence why I posted it without the link to a story. Now finding a recent one would of been a better thing to do...I have one in mind that he got sent off for, but was nowhere near that bad.
