Just recieved our prelim results to the year ended 30th June, probably boring for most but stuff like that excites me
We have just posted pre tax profits of over 15 million whilst purchasing players to the value of 14.4 million, reducing our debt at the bank by almost 5 million and building a state of the art training facility
This is within the same season we won the double, reached the last 16 of the Champions league only to be knocked out by the eventual winners by a single goal in extra time and paid Thomas Gravesen a reported 40k a week to be nothing more than a court jester
Those figures are exceptional imo given our level of tv revenue, just goes to show if we can continue to progress in Europe maybe we can survive being the big fish in a small pond for a while yet.

Sounds promising.
Whats going on with your stadium? Isn't there still a funny little stand that doesn't match?

Our debt at the bank is just shy of 5 million as it stands, more than managable. I actually await the phone ins etc saying the board are a bunch of tight arses and should give it all to Strachan for players

The main stand was kept when they regenerated the rest, there are plans in place should they ever feel the need to increase capacity which they could quite easily fill tbh. There still remains a section of the support that would aggresively oppose any such move.

The top 2 clubs within the league take 32% of the total as it stands there a lot of back and forth debate about that up here though. I think the latest Setanta deal was worth 35 million or therabouts over 4 years.

your not doing too bad considering the TV money you guys get. A good run in the Champs League will really push your income up.

Taking into account additional costs incurred i.e. bonus money etc the net contribution of a run into the last 16 brings in 11-12 million. In comparison the year before brought in a net of 750k.
It just shows how much this next Spartak game means to us and what a good result it was last week!

champions league is vital but hammer you have left out the various share issue's your club have had over the last 5 years you shouldnt even have a debt figure

I never left out anything i am talking about last years figures which have been accumulated without the aid of any share issues whatsoever
I won't even begin to start on your tinpot club.

the vast majority of clubs run with a certain amount of debt even when bringing in a profit for the year, so nothing wrong with this.

Edd forgets 2 years ago his club and more specifically his chairman had to raise 50 million from a share issue to cut their crippling debt of 75 million. By comparison ours is under 5

the share issues of course have to be mentioned you make out all was rosy but you only have a healthy bank balance because of the numerous share issues
you forget hammer that murray ran up the debt and paid it off himself(he underwrote it)
last year we where in the same situation this year we missed the champions league so our debt rose to 14 million from 5million it is easy to see that champions league qualification and progression is the only way the old firm will post profits
also this is the 1st time in 6 years celtic have posted a profit

Share issues had no bearing whatsoever on last seasons performance are you getting this Edd? We made £15 million profit last year WITHOUT ANY ADDITIONAL FUNDING THROUGH SHARE ISSUES.
We won the SPL, the Scottish Cup, Reserve League for the 6th consecutive season, the manager of the year, the player of the year and reached the last 16 of the Champions league only to be knocked out by the winners.
Rangers on the other hand did what?

ffs how blinkered are you, of course the issue's make a difference without them you would still be in masses of debt no matter how much income you generated last season

Edd do you have a clue about Celtics finances or are you going on stuff you hear your mates say in the pub? serious question.
There was a £15 million issue in 2005 guaranteed to the tune of £10 million by Dermot Desmond, just for the record.
