since my bottom ent went on my c20xe im rebuilding a spare 20xe engine i have.it has an oil cooler wich i do not want to use.my question is what do i do with the sandwich plate?because once its removed you cant screw the oil filter on fully.
my second question is are all the gear linkage bush kits the same?as i want to renew mine but im running an f20.so do i ask for that kit specifically?

iirc the sandwich plate is held on by the threaded bit the oil filter goes on? You just get a shorter one off an engine that doesnt have an oil cooler. You could probably just go to vauxhall and get one for a few quid

You should be able to change the hollow screw to let you put the oil filter on without the sandwich plate. A corsa one should do it
Why don't you want it? I think you are better off with it fitted IMO.
