to never use kwik fit ! bunch of amateurs (all at eastbank strret southport branch!). only just got my car sorted nearly 3 weeks after it being buggered! had to purchase the parts myself then they give me money back? bit of an inconvenience.

really takes the piss when they decide to fit the wrong pads(after having the car a week!) and not test them. and then they had the cheek to say id tampered with them, stay clear boys (and girls....  )

just a quick question, sorry that i havent red the entire of the other thread. Why did you do to quickfit to get your pads changed anyway? You've modified your car but you cant change a set of brake pads?

the rear pads had seized on, believe me i tried to do them! had no choice but to go to a garage

I find quik-fit to be useless, they did my wheel nut bolts up to 100 lbf ft

They were fine for my exhaust and fine for my tyres. I wouldn't trust them to do anything else though, but that's not just kwik fit, I just wouldn't let ANY place like that do mechanical work on any car I've had.

i ripped the whole lot off in one go the drum, springs, shoes, everythin come off as one big mess

i have 3 mates that work there.
ive had them working on exhausts, tires , brakes
they even did a whole steering rack on my golf
never ever had a problem wth them at all

ye they should use wheel brace then a torque wrench, then also get another member of staff to double check the wheel bolts. 110nm is the setting for vauxhall... 100lbf ft is about 130nm i wouldnt worry too much mate thats nothing major, if your car has aftermarket wheels the lads only covering his own back you dont know the shit he would get if your wheel was to come loose.

this happned at another kwik fit down the road  they ended up paying out for the lads family to go ob holiday
