As above....
Looking at S2000s just to compare what 10k here would get as am import but have no idea how it works.
So, it'll be more expensive to insure, but how much roughly? Will it just take up all you've saved importing?
I presume you can put a normal plate on the car (private plate like)?
Anything else I should know?

Unless you are clued up the best bet would be to buy 1 that has already been imported by a specialist.
Hopefully from new/nearly new so no missing SH.
Insurance will always depend on age/NCB/location etc but expect to pay a few hundred more.

insurance will be more £££ for the first person registering it. best to be second owner when importing. when registering you get given a reg number etc. and as above depends on age/ncb/location say £1000 fro importing ruff £500 to cover other costs such as m.o.t registering and putting it to uk standards!

I seem to have found the importers themselves, but not specialists with a stock......any decent links?
Not so bothered about the extra little costs if the car is cheap, but perhaps a pre-imported version would be better.....
Cheers

Any import your after, definatly try these guys out. www.privateimports.com or .co.uk cant remember now. They dont use auctions, they have people in Japan that find the cars in dealerships or being sold privatly so usually been alot better looked after. Great guys and will look for any import to the spec you give. They are busy people though so please be 100% certain you are definatly going ahead with it before you start making enquiries.
