just sorted out all my cleaning stuff and realised i need:

shampoo
tyre dressing
wheel cleaner
plastic dressing (to make it shine black)
polishing cloths



are microfibre cloths polishing cloths?

also, what is the best chamois to go for?

any off the shelf products from halfords will be fine.

Nice rug.

I dry mine with the Megs Water Magnet cloth thing and a microfibre cloth.

I also use the microfibre cloths for taking wax and polish off. Awesome things.

If its of the shelf you want I'd say these-

Wheels - Megs Hot Rims
Tyres - Megs Endurance(less shine lasts longer) or Auto Glym Tyre Dressing(More Shine, dosen't last long)
Polishing/Microfibre - Megs polishing cloths(The Auto Glym Perfect Polishing Cloths are rubbish)
Drying - Megs Water Magnet.

thanks lads just going to pop into halfords quickly tomorrow as i'm running low on some things and have a dusty/dirty car

and the rug is what keeps the garage floor warm else it'd be freezing in there

for tires and platics just use armorol (sp)

oh and regarding the polishing/microfibre cloths/chamois; they can be from the internet i use elitecarcare.co.uk for some products. Some of their stuff isn't well known but usually these are the best products.

if you want the wheel cleaner, buy a gallon of megs wheel britener. will last you ages aswell

ok well i've got a list of what i think are good products now.

Shampoo - Meguiars gold class shampoo and conditioner
Tyres - still deciding
Wheel Cleaner - Meguiars hot rims
Trim detailer - Autoglym bumper care
Applying Polish - Meguiars high tech foam applicator pads
Buffing Polish - Meguiars polishing cloths
Drying - Meguiars water magnet

i like the megs foam applicators for apply poilish, and the terry towel for removal

If you are prepared to order from Elite, i'd get a Sonus der wunder drying towell, and Elites 16x16 Polishing Cloth, far better than the Megs alternatives imo.
