I've got an FP ecu on the Corsa and i think it might be playing up. Mine has got 4 screws in a line on the cover. The ECU i'm looking at buying is also an FP ecu but doesn't have the 4 screws.

Does anyone one know if the 4 screws mean anything and if it will work in my car?

ecu code willay..

as long as the ecu is for the same type of engine it will work...

i.e if the car run's a dissy, the the ecu need's to be off a dissy spec engine, and not a dispac

Yeah i'm sure its off a dizzy engine and mine is a dizzy one. Mine doesn't run a lambda sensor so just waiting to find out if the car the ecu is off ran one or not. Might make a difference if it did, but then again might not.

the loom should ground out the lambda if its the old style gte loom iirc...

if not, you can ground one of the ecu pin's out to ignore lambda, did that on my old nova

just checked on mig...

you earth pin 20 on ecu to get it to ignore the lambda

If you have a C20XE loom, then pin 20 won't have a wire in it.

20XE Looms do have a wire in pin 20, and it goes to ground.

Ok cool. Thanks for the help Ste, i think i'll give it a go and see what happens. I dont have a clue what loom mine has on it, so i'll have to check it if i do get the new ECU.

If it doesn't work i'll just stick it back up for sale. No drama really.

Oh, one more thing.

If i find that its not the ecu playing up and its actually the loom, what loom would i need? Are there specific ones for different models etc?

as long as it's a dissy type it will be fine

early cav calibra will be easiest to fit, as the astra gte the loom plug is in the engine bay

Ah right thanks. I'll se what the ecu does and if it still decided it doesn't want to start properly i'll sort out a new loom.

Got my new ECU today off of Ant.

Plugged it in and it started first time after weeks of it not starting on the old ECU Rev limit is set to 7500rpm, bit scared to take it that far
