hes obviously wanting recomendations that people have used and liked before though...

try cheetah audio converter its free and has a very clean gui, very simple to use but has a wealth of quality options.

itunes!!! best 1 out there mate easily
Dont need an ipod either
Unless yo want t plug in a mp3 player, id use itunes!
