As the title suggests, ran my car with low oil for the space of maybe 2 weeks...dont know where all the oil went to as i check it quite often and didnt relise it didnt have any in untill the oil light came on round a corner...

i have changed the oil since and its developed a clicking on idle and can hear it on the bottom end of the revs 1400 is where its most vacant.

Going to see my mechinic today, but was just wondering what i might be looking at??? seems like its gonna be pricey if its cams...hoping for just an adjustment on it like but we cant all be so lucky

any idea wud be great help

thats what came in to my head first, im taking it up soon just gonna keep oil aint low before it goes haha...if its like stupid prices or anything im going for a X16XE or a C20XE hahaha

Did you use decent oil when you topped it up?

Change it again for Vauxhall 10w 40 semi synthetic if you didnt.

reason the oil went maybe the piston rings, i know a couple of people that have that problem, same with the x16xe

no, the x14xe has hydraulic LIFTERS otherwise known as CAM FOLLOWERS. these are vastly different to tappets.

all gud anyways he seems to think its a emissions electronic vavle...i'll have to get a picture up haha...pissing me off abit but dont think its anything thats gonna destroy the car haha...

used castrol magnetec 10w 40w mate...used it last time with no problems
