what engine mounts to use when fitting a 16v engine aka a x16xe into a shell which originally had a 8v in it? as the engine/gearbox chassis mounts are different.

rear mount is the same, gearbox mount, use the one off the 8v car.
16v mount, depends if it has PAS + AC or PAS, or neither.

IIRC the mounts are the same, just need to be shifted a bit?

is a fair, so deff no A/C and i dont think its got PAS
so i can just use the 8v mounts, and they will bot straight onto the 16v block?

The only mount you might have an issue with is the one on the block, the other 2 can be nicked from the original gearbox.
If it's got no PAS or AC, you'll have to buy a mount from Vauxhall, or use one from a 16v SRi with no PAS, which will be for the early chassis leg type, and a 16v block.
I THINK you might get away with the 8v mounts too, it's worth whipping it off and bolting it to the 16v block before getting the engine out to see if it saves you money.
