I'm running an e16se on normal injection and its fairly nippy. With a set of 40s etc I'd imagine it'd fairly shift.

Easy enough conversion tbh, no major headaches. Car started as a 1.2 8v LS. The 1600 had the loom, g'box, all ancilleries etc with it that made things easier. I just needed to make a small loom up to join the Nova engine loom to the Corsa car loom. This was easy enough with the connector off the Nova car loom and the connector taken off the original corsa engine loom. I rebuilt the Nova engine before it went it to make sure everything was ok. Its been running for 8 months or so now with no major probs, been through a couple of distributors though, lol!

The engine I'm running is bascially standard. Got a 4 branch to go on, to link to the stainless steel system. I'm currently running the original Corsa manifold and downpipe, which will be restricting things a bit compared to the original Nova 4-2-1 set-up.

Do it though, lots of fun! Quick enough to enjoy yourself in

for mounts i'd assume you need a 1.4/1.6 sport drivers side engine mount, and use the corsa gearbox/shafts will fit

Nope, all 3 original mounts were fine for the conversion. I use the Corsa shafts, but the Nova F13CR g'box.

I'd imagine there would be a couple of things different doing the conversion in a 1l 12v, but not much.

Forgot to mention before I had to buy a Corsa 1.4 8v MPi (c14se, SRi) throttle cable, as the original cable was too short.

Engine rebuilt and painted:

Engine in:

Wiring loom I had to make up:

Inlet Painted:

Recent pic with air box fitted (with panel filter), oil catch tank (which has dramatically decreased inlet manifold temperature).

Hopefully putting the 4 branch on in the next couple of weeks which should help it breath a bit better

Your e16se looks very good

Mines a sham atm.

There said to be very reliable and have good amounts of torque.

If you get the c16se with the coil pack maybe there less troublesum then e16se which have good old dissys.

I bought another engine for mine a few months ago, which is an c16se (as apposed to the e16se I have now). Hoping to strip it down and get the engine cleaned up and get a bit more power from it

It looks a bit messy at the moment, but I'll eventually get round to mounting the catch tank properly and sorting a feed for the air box.

Performance wise I recon its alright. I've had a Corsa GSi a few years ago, and don't think its any slower than that was.

You've got to think of this conversion in terms of how much it'll cost to do...very little! I recon for the money you can't beat it. My engine set me back £100, plus a few quid to rebuild it, so it was around a 55% increase in power fover the 1.2 that was in the car. Don't get those kind of gains for that kind of money very often!

If you need any advise on doing yours just drop me a U2U. I took pictures right through my conversion, so should be able to help out

There is a bit of a grey area with these engines, it could be a late E or an early C. Didn't only really late C's have the DIS pack? Be reet either way

Ah right, lol. The C's didn't have one of the big AFMs then either?
