Dude, speak to JR, but look at a Mercades Air Flow meter..

Friend had one on his PD130 TDi Mk4 Golf, and it was bloody nippy!!!!!!! Nearly as quick as my XE Corsa tbh (rolling starts). Only cost about £30 as well I think, the rest of his car was standard.

I can ask my friend which model air flow meter it was, but its a known mod that really works. His next step was a Remap (jabba or such) but he got rid of the car instead.

Power increase was VERY noticable on the road though.

Hate to say this Col but i hope you don't get bored of diesel power mate

I got bored of the VRS pretty quickly even though i buzzed about it when i first got it.The novelty of the small power band really got on my tit in some circumstances.

I'm not like everyone though and most people never go back after a quick diesel.

Colin, how could you make Jade second to a car

Im sure you will love driving it. Dont worry if the MPG drops quickly after a cannnnnnee... but I managed 60.1 mpg on the M25 once, cruise set at 64ish

Mate, I went diesel because im doing 600 miles a week

Even if I do get bored of it, it needs to be kept until I go offshore (looking to be Feb 09) I a diesel with efficiency & reliability in mind, enjoyment comes 2nd

I like the golf though its pretty fast & very chuckable. I rate it above most petrol cars ive owned & drove!!

Im not too arsed about modding it really, I spend 80% of my driving stuck on the Motorway in rush hour doing 50

Dont really plan to spend much on this one Eck, got some wheels ordered & transfered my plate over. I doubt there will be much more i'll do, maybe some springs if it looks 4x4 with the 18's on.

Neither did he, but it gave a huge hike in power and torque (not RR, just on the road you could feel the performance hike).

Cost about £40. 20 minutes fitting, job done.
