hey guys
just bought a corsa this weekend with a 2.0 calibra lump in and had it 2 hours and already broke it 
was driving down a bypass and went to put it in 5th but missed and it went into neutral and revved it quite hard then engne managment light came on and now its like it runnin on 3 cylinders or summit, sounds like a scooby but slow as fuck lol
any off you chaps know what ive done?

going into neutral and revving the engine shouldnt have done any damage and certainly shouldnt have brought your engine management light on,
have you checked all your common problems, (plugs, leads, dizzy etc)

nope not had a look at anything yet because not very familiar with the engine, is it best to change these first or just to have a look at them for any signs that they may need replacing?

As long as you went into neutral and not 3rd rather than 5th your engine wont have been damaged.
Have you flashed the codes off the ECU to see what fault the EML is coming on for?

not yet mate just looked nto it and going to do the paperclip test in a bit. then go from there really, anythin you could suggest?

Is it an old type XE with a dizzy cap?
Mine was and after a bit of spirited driving, it started running on 3, turned out just a lead had popped off the dizzy end (old leads)
Paperclip test is the 1st thing id do if your getting the EML on. Che kthe obvious things in the bay 1st tho, sensors plugged in propperly, leads on propperly etc

just had a look for the fusebox to do the paperclip test but couldnt find it anyway heres some pics if you know whereabouts it might be


also noticed that the dizzy was cracked aswell, could this have anythin to do with it?
