Just topped my oil up as it was tapping a bit but now when the car is idling its very shaky, and when u accelarate it takes a few seconds to get the revs up and then u get quite a loud tap/crack ing noise. The oil looks like its just above maximum. could this be the cause or is there something else i could look out for.

UPDATE
Now it idling at 900rmp but not that smoothe and shakes like fuck untill u take it till about 2200 rpm and then its smoothe.

if the thing is shaking its nutts off till you get to a higher rpm it will most probably be the coil pack, best thing is get the car running, rev it to 4k for 30sec then just turn the ignition off, dont let it idle just turn it straight off, then take the plugs out and you will be able to tell wether it is running on what sylinders. trust me this works a treat if you dont want to get 50k volts down your arm
