AFM from an astra GTE 16v will be fine on a later XE engine wont it?
Apparently some have idle mix adjuster screws?
Am buying/wanting to buy an AFM from a guy with gte 16v......

one thing i do know is dizzy engines had a different afm to a later coilpack engine, i played it safe and brought one for later version

i have a dizzy cap on mine. coil[acks confuse me as ive never actually seen a coilpack XE. any pics?

you need one that came off an engine with a dizzy, the DIS ones are different. Also the very early GTE ones were different as well.

anyone got part numbers for the different XE AFM's would be easy cos i can ask th guy what his is.

the early xe has 6 pin plug and the dis one has a 4 pin plug cant go wrong there really

pretty sure the AFM i have/engine i have is from mk2 astra's and cavaliers up to 1992.
finger's crossed i get the right one

would of saved hassle if the dude had the paperwork from the company that did it but oh well.
I think bosch make remanufactured ones that are apparently better than standard.
125 quid though. second hand i think is the way forward.

there are too types of early airflow meter, the very very early one that has a manual adjuster on it an the average normal one. Can use either really but thought I would meantion that.

early and late air mass meters are not interchangeable from looking at your pic you need an early pre 92 afm
