Haven't got one but been looking into them.
Insurance is a bit shit TBH. Group 20. Most owners seem to get around 200 miles to a 50 litre tank. Works out around 20ish MPG. Apparently you can get 250 or so with more careful driving.
Anything else?

Nice car, performance is ok, nothing earth shattering mind you.
Fuel is not so good, a tenner gets me about 60-70 miles.
Parts do not come cheap.
Insurance as said is group 20, the earlly models have some issues too.

I got a quote on one at 20 without a problem. Wasn't cheap, but wasn't refused.

What problems do the early ones have?

Thought they were group 19? MPG will be fine, my CTR was very cheap to run.
Edit:- After doing a google it appears to be 19 or 20 depending on where you go

What are the roof issues? I am going to see a few over the weekend 2000/2001 models but the only owners club Ive found in the UK you need to pay before even seeing the forum.

The official MPG figures dont look good.
Nor does group 20 considering it isnt exactly a stormingly fast car.
I think it would incite you to drive like a loon as i guess its designed with 'racing' in mind.
Id prefer something a bit more comfortable and sedate if i wanted a roadster, Z4 perhaps.

well there not so much issues but the roofs only last about 6 years before tears start to appear at the sides, also roofs with plastic rear windows are prone to cracking in cooler temps (winter times) this is why honda replaced them with glass rear windows in the later models.

04 versions get upgraded everything, and use lots less oil than their earlier counterparts.
Xs, get on http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showforum=25
Thats a pretty good forum, tho most of the users are up their own arses. My car is the best, better than everything else etc etc. Lots of information though.
