I would still be tempted to give it a polish if its all coming apart, and get it measured (or diy with plastigauge) to make sure you get the bearing size perfect. If the shells are that bad then its a a worthwhile precaution.

heads off, pistons are out. the head is dead i think as its scored where the cams sit

Shells are knackered as dave a has pointed out. I would want the crank polished at the very least.

gutted! hopefully the oil filter has done its job and the damage isnt too bad!

full rebuild required, head is good as scrap as its going to cost too much to repair

mate, when i had my corsa B, there was allways a to-do list. Seemed like part of the ownership, then just as the list was nearly down to nout, something would break

im gutted the most cause that was running soo well. it wasnt missing a beat or nethin. thought i would give it a freshen up with some nice new parts and bam, there goes all my hard work and money lol
