By the sounds of it, it seems that Platini has changed his mind on the CL qualification format in exchange for the G14 changing their name to something else 
G14 as a whole now is far too powerful a tool for the member clubs not to be a part of, it has been, and doubt still will be under a different banner, used to force UEFA not to rush through with their own plans without listening to the biggest clubs in Europe.

TBH though UEFA can strike a deal with all the clubs outside of the G14, but the fact remains that the biggest clubs in the world are in there, and they have enough power on their own without the ones outside its membership.
So I seriously doubt Platini has gained any ground in world domination as he would like.

that is under the new propsed formation if and when the new teams join. Under the current formation its actually a good power against UEFA.

It depends what the ruling was really. Not all things would only effect the 'big' clubs, and some of them will, so would end up being better for some not in it, and worse for others.
