Hey,
My car was overheating a shitload and I just had to have a new radiator put in but since they've put it in every time my foot is down on the gas and i go past 2,5k revs It sounds like somebodys put a rainstick under my bonnet, it sounds like trickling water (almost) but sounds more like a rain stick (if you know what they are)...
Anyone got any ideas as to what they've done, The guy said that it was the exaust thats come loose... or got a hole in it and it was the noise from the exhaust i could hear.... bullshit, it didnt do this with the last radiator... I dont think thats what it is at all.
Anyone got any ideas??

Ok, Im going to do the airlock thing tommorow.
But it's probably worth mentioning that this whirring/rainstick noise only appears when I press the accalerator down.
Does this sound normal for an airlock? or does it sound like something else.
Help appreciated!

have you checked your coolant level since having the radiator changed?

take the coolant cap off once engine is up 2 temp then pinch the coolant hoses to make sure there isnt any air in them. leave it to bubble over a little then top up with coolant once u are happy that there is no more air in there.

ok so, just to make sure; I start the engine, let it warm up a bit, remove the cap and pinch the hose in a few places to get air out, then leave the car running with the cap off for a bit so it bubbles over a bit and then top up with coolant/water when im done?

yup. leave it to get up to running temp properly though, wait til the fan comes on. turning your heaters full up on hot helps too as it gets all the hot water circulating and brings the air to the top,
Also, wait until the engine is cold again before filling with coolant.

I wouldn't advise removing the coolant cap whilst the engine is running.
Also, if you heaters are on full blast, it'll take longer for your car to warm up

of course you can remove the coolant cap when the engine is running (be careful though lol), Gibbon, just be aware of how close to the lid the coolant is as it may come out rather fast, dont put your face directly above it lol

how long exactly do you need to leave the car on for?? I went for a fairly big drive and left it idling for 20mins and the temp guage didnt move from the very bottom :S
