Sounds like any other *inline* 4 cylinder 16v turbo IMO .
Can't understand why people are complaining about them being thirsty though - my VXR is more powerful and heavier, and I'm actually impressed by the mpg which varies between 28-33 depending on how much it's driven in traffic. My corsa only used to do just under 40mpg (1.4 Sri C), so a 25% decrease for twice the power and a heavier car is pretty good IMO.
As regards SRi/GSi - GSi everytimefor me. Not a fan of the kit on the Sri, don't get the half leather, and the wheels are much nicer on the GSi too. If it weren't for the 0% and a moment of madness, I'd be driving one .

The sri is good value for money as they are often cheaper than the gsi's. also the gsi and sri both have the same power but on the rolling road test the sri didnt have the switch to turn off the traction controll.
One thing to look out for on the some sri's is there is a faulty earth connection in the wiring loom which causes them to run a bit poorly, there is a guide on aoc on how to sort it out though. Fixed this problem on my brothers sri in about an hour so its not too much to worry about.

I'd recommend the coupe turbo actually. Much better value for money and IMO look nicer and more grown up.

i love mine, i agree with fuel consumption it is not that bad when you drive fairly sensible i get around 30mpg this way but it gets worse when u plant it but who cares u dont buy car like this for fuel econemy, my m8 1.8 focus struggles to get 35-36mpg on same type of driving so..........
i have a arden blue one love the colour, gr8 interior and nice drive mines now on 50k miles brought it on 40k and in 10k miles it has not missed a beat yet.
not best handling car/chassis but throw some eibach springs on it will improve fair bit.
funny lol i think my xe corsa easy out handles my astra with the traction control turned off hahahahaha.
but overall im well happy with mine and will be keeping for little while longer yet, as i nearly sold up for mazda rx8

Really? Other than it being fwd and therefore flawed i find it very chuckable? Much more fun than the calibra altho it has far less grip obv.
never noted as amazing in the press but i seem to remember the handling being praised!?
I find mine quite entertaining on eibachs
