2 of them.
One, Is it possible to get a cover note online, so I can get tax on the car?
and
Two, If i got a weeks cover note with windscreen cover, could I claim for a windscreen in that time? Mine is cracked, should pass the MOT, but i think its growing

1. No, they won't accept MIC unless it's on official paper.
2. Possible but not sure, have a look on dayinsure.co.uk

Hang on though, you need MOT on the car. But you also need insurance and tax. But you can't get tax without the Insurance and MOT... so are you just chancing getting the car to the garage without Tax and MOT?
If you get MOT and insurance, you should be able to tax the car online. But during all the faffing about with testing etc, you'll probably get the MIC through the post anyway so no need to worry about getting one off the net.

Its already at the garage, chanced it
Ill just get my brother to put a cover note on the car for it, as week would be good as it needs the tracking done.

You don't need tax to get the car MOT'd as long as you go straight to the MOT station and back.
