if stupid means 140ish say for example. youd have been arrested and your car would have been impounded. you wouldnt have been allowed to drive away?

Sometimes its better like that.

In my mis-spent youth I had a Pug 1.9 and decided to impress the girlf at the time...the result was a 57 in a 30

I got the same as you (albeit a tad different, I was given a lecture in the back of the car and read my rights) but it was still a ticket, nothing else.

If it goes to court...wear a nice outfit, talk lucidly and explain the circumstances. Nothing flashy or brash.

Best of luck from there on in, it's a speeding offence after all..so dont beat yourself up like you are some sort of mass murderer.

Exactly what I thought. If you were that much of a risk, they'd have got another unit there. Seen as they 'provoked; you, this probably affected their decision.
