Well i would hope he hasnt said it for that reason. The whole Nikon vs Canon thing is like a little gay war for some people. Im sure ross had his reasons to suggest that.

Unfortunatly i dont know too much about either so i can really offer my opinion

Dust protection can do that yourself, just keep it clean and get a blow brush.

Matt, is there a camera shop near you where you can hold/play with both of them?

You might prefer the feel of one of them, even if the features aren't exactly the same on both.

A friend of mine I know from work knows the deputy manager of Jessops so I might be able to get staff discount 10% I think it is
