you just plug your pc into the input in the back, i imagine it will hve a pc-in as most do now

The tv will have one you can plug in yes.
Best option will be a dvi-hdmi cable, unless the tv has dvi.

Most LCDs/Plasmas you can connect up to the computer. You can either use a normal VGA cable of if you have a DVI socket you can get a DVI-HDMI cable and connect it up to HDMI input if it has one.
Then you just need to find the resolution to run at - the maunal will show you what you can output to each input
You might find that VGA is better than HDMI. To get the best picture you want 1:1 pixel mapping. HDMI inputs will only allow 720/1080 signals where as VGA will often allow something like 1366/768 (which is often the actual pixel count of the LCD

Vga is not better than hdmi.
The picture quality on dvi /hdmi is worth the 6 pixels you lose.
