If I tax my car online it takes 5 days for the disc to come, but can I drive my car immediately after buying the tax or do I need to wait for the tax disc to arrive?

Nope tax is valid from the day of purchase.
Its an offense to drive a vehicle with no tax disc displayed.

thats whats B3KAN just said, are you on drugs?

if you purchase it online and drive straight away without having the valid tax disc in your case then it is an offence. it might be valid as such from when you purchased it but it is still a crime to drive without it in your car and IN FULL VIEW of anyone looking for it

I bought tax online and just drove without tax showing. Its only an offence if you get caught. I printed off the page saying ive bought it so its not exactly your fault is it...

its an offence to fail to display tax, whether you are driving the car or its parked up, usually they give you 14 days grace though

It is an offence. Whether or not you get off with it is another matter, but you are operating outside of the law to not display it.
