this is what ive been offered!
my boss is moving and has just bought a TH42PX70 and said i can have her old TV for £200. its a PDP-43... so looking around on the net i presume it will be this one?
now, she doesnt have the ped for it, which she says in near on impossible to buy now!? as the TV is five years old. but she will give me the wall mount as well (offical Pioneer one, cost £250 on its own!?) also the TV doesnt have a tuner, is this correct? it needs to be plugged into a tuner box, or, i presume a DVD-rec with DVB will work for my digital channels?
does anyone have any more info on this TV, as id like to know about the connections, i guess ill use component for my DVD as it doesnt have HDMI on the TV. also, im currently running an AE surround on my Samsung LCD, which is basically made for PCs lol so its connected via 3.5mm headphone jack... so i really wanna know if it has that as well. alternatively, because the TV doesnt come with speakers, does that mean i could just plug some straight in? (without the need for a seperate amp)
i only started getting into home cinema and stuff this year! and bought an LE26R74 back in march, which i like. but this does sound a good deal as the Pioneer was nearly £3k back in the days!? do you think i should go for this deal, or maybe save up a bit more and get a Panasonic plasma like my boss just has, obviously having the advantage of DVB and HDMI. but then... i dont play games, and if i use a DVD-rec with DVB im sorted anyway right?
oh and the TV is said to be in absolute mint condition!
i guess the ultimate question is... would you rather be watching my 26" LCD or the Pioneer?
also, do you think id be okay wall mounting on to this wall:
i know its not very clear sorry. the blue side is my bedroom that it would be going on. its a brick wall just under a foot wide i guess

Correct about the tuner. It's a display, not a TV. It only seems to have VGA and DVI input, so as long as there's a way to connect your DVD Recorder to one of those connections, you're alright. Personally, I'd save the £200 and all the fucking about and keep the 26".

Stick to the 26". If it's too big, then you'll have to sit outside to watch it properly anyway.
Like Richie said, sell the bugger on.
