quote:
Part of the club's profit will be used to service the debts - around £35m a year - incurred by its American owners, the Glazer family, who took over the club in June, 2005. But it also leaves a significant amount of cash for Sir Alex Ferguson to deploy in the January and summer transfer markets.
No it wont, as the £75m will be net, and this is also BEFORE the summer spending of £60m+. So once you take off the interest payments (which Ive read are around £62m a year, not £35m) it wont leave much at all.

Don't forget the vital factors though.
We won't need to buy any new players as we have Dong, the best striker to grace the Premier League.
Then you have to take in to account the money Dong will bring in for being a legend.
Then theres the fact everyone loves a bit of Dong.
Everything looking a bit Dong at United.

' It raised the ground capacity to 76,000, from just under 68,000 in the 2005-06 season, and the club was able to fill Old Trafford for most matches.
In fact only one game, against Middlesbrough in a Monday night FA Cup sixth-round replay in March, was under 70,000. '
That is very impressive imo, can only admire that statistic!

Its misleading imformation Hammer!!!
They didn't raise from 68000 to 76000! It was already 73000 ish and they added the extra seats. 76000 was just the first time they'd officially announced the rise in capacity.

I was talking about the fans dedication moreso than the rise in seat capacity. We struggle to get half filled stands against lower league opposition in both cups.

You wouldnt fill the place against some of the initial games in the Carling Cup and FA Cup (not against non-Prem teams anyway).

Same for me, we had to go and collect them
Cosmo, don't believe everything you read, they are a private company and don't have to announce whatever amounts of interest they are paying so it's all hearsay
Just like whenever we sign anyone, there are atleast 5 different prices we have paid thrown about

Even before the cup ticket scheme united were getting 70k+ into the ground
Only this season has it been all season ticket holders automatically getting cup tickets also

I think if the Glazer's came and knocked on your door with all their accounts and show you the amount of interest per year, the amount of profit, and all other details, you wouldn't believe them as you 'read' different elsewhere
