Dad has snapped one. You have 3 hamstrings in each leg. He now has 2 in his left leg due to a skiing accident.

I'm sure yours isn't that bad.

i was prone to stretching my hamstrings when i was a kid, i used to have to wear cycling shorts to keep them as warm as possible, and at one point i tore my right one!

stil now at 22 i struggle to use the resistance machines at the gym that work my hamstrings.

but as people have said for a pul around 6-8 weeks depending how bad, obviusly alot longer for a tear, but you will know if its a tear as you cant walk onit at all for a few weeks

I did my hamstring once in martial arts, also done my groin at a different time to. Best bet is to take 6 weeks off and properly rest it, dont try and rush back. I tried rushing back as i was impatient and made it worse, and was out for even longer
