Im currently trying to fine tune my diet

For the past four years of my working life ive been having 2 rounds of toast and a cup of tea

is this sufficent or am I wayyyy from the mark?

My aim this year is to gain size/strength, im not the skinniest of people but I am by no means at all chubby

I understand breakfast is essential to get the metabolism started

As soon as a wake i have whey protein with water so it's in my system immediatley. You need this because you're body has been starved throughout the night, then 30 mins later i'll have oats and scrammbled eggs (2 whole eggs, 8 whites)

I might start having a shake when I get up then as I dont have time for breakfast before work (normally have it about 9:20 when I've got there)

Always thought it would be pointless though as I work in an office and wont really burn it off, thought it would just make me fat

If you're training hard you need sufficient nutrition for your muscles to repair and grow. Not sure what you mean about burning it off.

Probs not worded it right....

As in im just sat doing fuck all for 8 hours a day, so I wouldn't be "burning off" the energy given to me via the protein.

Im probs way off the mark with my thinking though

Carbs give you energy. Still unsure why you want to 'burn off' your food consumption. That's fine if you want to lose weight but you wont build muscle.

Nutrition is a wide subject, i can eat 8 meals a day and still lose fat whilst maintaing muscle.

I clearly need to read up on it more

EDIT - What I meant was, if im not doing anything when at work, will there be too much Protein in my body doing nothing, and eventually turn into fat. Appreciate that I need protein inside me if i've been to the gym the night before, but if I havn't, then do I need that boost in the morning.

If that makes more sense
