met up with rob (off here) last night to swap wheels
he had my 17" superleggeras
and I had his 16" cupra alloys
since swapping we both have wheel wobble...
the steering wheel shakes like fuck...
was fine before we swapped, any ideas?

wobble usually stops at about 70 if its balancing. but do the cheapest/easiest thing first get em balanced up as its more than likely that

I thing its a very safe bwt they will need re-ballancing
My corsa had that very problem
the whole car would shake at bang on 70, when I eventually (1.2 8v) got it upto 80 it would stop

When you swapped them did you by any chance swap where they had come from on the previous car? Many places only balance fronts on an FWD car so if you have put the rears on the front it may be worth swapping them about!
P.S. When doing so if the tyres are directional make sure you adhere to it!

Where have you heard of or seen only the front wheels being balanced?
Everytime I have had tyres fitted for my car, they have always been balanced, every single time, regardless of where on the car it sits!
