Whilst thinking of pranks, I remembered one I did a few years back.
I somehow sourced a bit of software that could send text messages & have it appear to be from a number that you select!!
Does anyone know where I can get this again, or if there's any online option of doing this?

Oh dear, what have I started?
All I remember about the software is that it used a regular old modem connection, and it used to dial through to some German number (at regular phone cost to Germany)... it was very simple to use, and worked very VERY well!
I've since used an online version, but the bloody timestamp gave the game away, as it was 1 hour ahead
Not sure if they've clamped down on using numbers now... I think the online ones allow you to enter text into the "sender" field, but no longer numbers... may be wrong though. They seem to be charging like £1.50 per message now too

This looks promising... http://www.agiletelecom.com
25 Euros will buy you 304 SMS messages with dynamic sender (select your own sender - numbers or text!)

ah-ha! I've been speaking with the online operator & she's managed to send me a test message with the correct time.... looking promising again.
Am currently going over package costs with her.
